Gateways Academy

Grow * Achieve * Think * Explore * Wonder * Apply * Youth * Serve

An intentionally small and purposefully designed PK-12 microschool where every learner is known personally and empowered to learn and grow.

Gateways Academy began as an idea to serve Worcester families recently displaced by the closing of private schools within the city during the COVID-19 pandemic.  As educators, we were motivated to passionately pursue creating a microschool through a strong commitment to serving diverse learners and a desire for a more real-world experience. Social and ethnic diversity are hallmarks of our school community.

Our Mission & Purpose

Our mission is to help each child realize their individual gifts through a blended and comprehensive education for diverse learners. We promote life-long learning, create paths for individual success, and support well-being by integrating values of care and compassion. We prepare our students for life.

Our purpose is to provide the best education possible to every child who enters our school. We are motivated by the diversity present in every child — culturally, academically, socially — thus, we strive to reach to each student’s intellectual potential and interests with an array of academic, cultural, service, and technological opportunities.  In our school, every student is known personally and empowered to learn and grow.

Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all. ~ Aristotle
